Royal Yacht Club.

Trip 13, August 2024. Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club , Bridlington. We arrived at the campsite after a 2.5hr journey and we managed to get a pitch along the fence. It needed ramps but we got fairly level. We decided just to put up the windbreak, but it was harder than anticipated because the ground was …

The Airbag ECU has died.

We were on our way to Avon Bank Meadows and the Airbag ECU failed again. The warning lights were flashing along with the seat belt warning lights. They all went out , then came on and eventually settled with just the airbag warning light remaining on. We carried onto the campsite. I rang Crash Data …

Iona gets more Solar Power part 2

The final parts arrived. I did have to wait for the weather to change and we were away for a few days. The mounts were connected to the solar panel and because they were so smooth I did rough them up a bit to make the sikaflex adhesive hold better. The new extension leads arrived …

Iona gets more Solar Power part 1

Iona already has a solar panel and two leisure batteries and to be honest we have never run out on battery power. However with the lack of sun recently we were having to decide what to watch on TV at night and what lights to put on. The TV and the water pump use the …

Iona is now Charging

A twin 2.1amp USB charging point fitted. Auto-Trails, well our Imala,  has no way to charge iPads and phones without the engine running unless you buy a cigarette lighter extension with USB ports to plug into the TV 12v socket.  I did this and found that you can only charge one iPad and a phone …

Nearly Ready to Motorhome in 2018

The bed conversion kit has arrived from Auto-Trail (Spinney). They have also sent a grill for the vent under the bed. I think we are now nearly ready for the 2018 season. But first we have a Habitation Service and the van has got to go to North East Trucks for two engine recalls to …

Extra protection for the Winter

The New Seal has Arrived I went to have a look at the new 2018 Motorhomes at a local dealer. All very good but nothing to replace our Iona that would fit on the drive. What is apparent is that there have been a lot on minor improvements. One that caught my attention was a …

Refillable gas system fitted

With bottled gas costing between £22-£28 per refill, it was getting quite expensive,  even in the summer we use a bottle every 8 days. The price of autogas is much cheaper at  0.62p per litre compared to £1.90 per litre for the calor gas refills.       We invested in a Gas-it system that …
