Trip 15, Southview Holiday Park, Skegness

They have a strict policy of 2pm arrival for camping. We got there a bit early but they signed us in. We found our pitch easily because most of the site was empty.

The main caravan park is very tidy and well kept but the touring site needed some TLC, with grass growing on the hard standing pitches.

The one Elsan point was a little gross and the two waste water points were really bad. Someone had emptied their toilet cassette in the wrong place.
However the bar and restaurant were good and we spent the afternoon in the beer garden in the sun.

Day 2:
Pouring with rain until about 3pm. Sue went for a swim and I went for a beer before going back to the motorhome to read. The rain stopped at about 4.30pm and the sun came out for a little while.
Curry for tea tonight.
Tomorrow we hope to catch a bus into Skegness.
Day 3:
Our last day here and the sun is out so we caught an open top bus into Skegness. Sue was determined to go upstairs.

There were a few people about but being October not all the amusements etc were open.
We walked along the seafront and into town to check out the bus station.

Then back to the front and the pier was open so we went to have a look at what is left.

Then we walked back to the seafront and found a sheltered spot to eat Lunch before walking onto the pier, or what is left of it.
Eventually we found ourselves heading back into town and at the The Red Lion which just happens to be a Wetherspoons. Time for a drink before catching the bus back to the campsite .

Skegness is better than it was but it still needs some TLC to counteract the tatty areas. We saw plenty of police and during the bus trip home we passed a police car that had caught some youths on an electric bike.
Tonight we are eating in The Boathouse before watching Traitors back at Iona.
Bloated, cannot eat another thing. I might fall asleep before Traitors.
The trip was great value because of the special campsite price and it is less than 60 miles from home. We will come back but at the end of the summer season when the schools have gone back .
