Trip 13 , September 2025, Keith’s Farm, Sea Palling Norfolk
Keith’s farm is right on the coast at Sea Palling. The site has flat fields and basic facilities.
We were soon set up although it turned out too windy to put the wind break up today. We left the site and took the middle option to the beach. There is a huge sea defence bank but also a purpose build stairway to get over to the breakwater.

Once on the beach we saw a woman swimming and following her were two grey seals. The woman had to keep an eye on them because they appeared to be very curious and at one stage were very close to her.
We walked along the beach to the Lifeguard station and the slipway back into Sea Palling. There is not much here apart from a cafe, play area, shop, amusement arcade, fish & chip shop and a pub.
We chose the pub for a drink. We sat outside until it got a bit chilly and then we retired inside. We met another couple from Norwich who regularly visit and they have a motorhome parked in a farm nearby. We chatted with them for some time before walking back to the campsite.

Tonight ASDA have prepared us a curry that Sue will be cooking for tea.
Day 2:
This morning it was dry and as we looked outside we could see that the horses had broken their fence at some time and they were happily gorging on the long grass.
We went to the beach this morning and spent 3 hours reading. It was windy but we sheltered near the sea defences. After lunch it started to get cool and then we retired clouds had turned dark.

We walked along the beach to the lifeboat station and then headed to the Lifeboat Tavern for a couple of drinks before heading back to the campsite.
We got back to the van and the horses were back in their correct paddock and the fence had been rebuilt.
We sat outside until it got chilly when the sun went behind the clouds. The rest of the afternoon was spent reading inside.
We cannot get a regular Wi-Fi signal in the motorhome we may take the iPads to the pub tomorrow to get everything updated.
Tonight I am cooking on the bbq in the wind which will be interesting.

Day 3:
A wet and windy start to the day. The rain woke us up and then the wind was rocking the motorhome. There was a break in the weather at 11am so we went for a walk to the beach. Once over the sea wall we could see people watching a seal in the surf.
We joined them watching and then made our way towards lifeguards, again we saw seals as they poked their heads up.

We walked further down the beach and kept seeing seals every now and then. We returned to the main slipway and called in at the Lifeboat Tavern for a drink. We met the owners and their 12 week old baby.
A couple came in with a large chocolate Labrador and we had a long chat with them. They had rented a cottage in Hickling which is about 5 miles from Sea Palling. We thought our 3 hour drive was long but they came from Newcastle and it took them 8 hours. They were saying that Scotland is only 2 hours away but it is far more expensive than driving down to Norfolk.
We walked home in the sunshine and Sue made some lunch as it started to rain and it never stopped until 6pm when the sun re-emerged for a short while.
Day 4:
The horses have broken through the fence again but they are staying within the main paddock. It has been raining on and off all morning. We did get the chairs out a couple of times in between the showers.

After lunch we read as the rain came again but at around 3pm it stopped and the sun came out. We went for a walk along the beach. We passed the lifeguards and continued along the beach. It was the the the grey seals started appearing very near the beach. At one point we counted 6 but taking pictures was a bit hit and miss.
We headed back the way we came but left the beach by the main slipway. We felt the need for a drink so we called into the Lifeboat Tavern for a drink. It is almost as if we are locals as the owners acknowledged. The pub is definitely a social hub within the community.
Back at the campsite Sue prepared our tea. Tonight we had Chicken Wraps with salad etc. while eating tea we could see bats flying around the Motorhomes, earlier we also saw a deer walking along the hedge in the campsite field. It has been a good day but getting out after the rain made it better.

Day 5:
A better day for the weather so we went for a walk before lunch. This time we headed North to Eccles. The tide was out so we walked along the beach. We did come across a seal pup but we did not get too close because it looked exhausted or unwell .
After the walk we had lunch and decided to check out the convenience shop for supplies before we booked another day at the campsite. We got some supplies and stopped to pay the stewards for an extra night.

Late afternoon we headed for the fish & chip shop in Sea Palling,we bought our tea and headed for the beach, well the tide was in so we sat on the sea defence and ate a great tea of fish & chips with the best curry sauce we have ever had and washed it down with either a beer or wine. We headed home.

We sat outside the van in the sun for half an hour before moving inside at about 19.30. A great day with the walks, seal spotting a tea on the beach.
Day 6:
Not much to do today , Women’s Rugby 🏉 on TV, the England 🏴 match starts at 17.00. Beer in the fridge ready.
We went for a short walk along the beach, then called in at the Lifeboat Tavern for a drink. After a drink we headed to the convenience shop to get a couple of Pizzas. Sue added extra topping and they turned out really good.
Our last day today , heading home tomorrow.

Sea Palling was my closest beach when I had a holiday cottage nearby. So lovely to see your pix.
