You may or may not have read ours travels to Bridlington this year, in fact last month, but we forgot to tell of our beach combing.
We walked along the high tide marks and I found a tennis ball and what I call an extra bouncy ball. Sue found a play mobile figure of a woman/ girl (other pronouns are available) on the model’s foot was the date of 1975, so the figure is 49 years old. We don’t know how long she has been in the sea but she has now been rescued.
Back to the balls. Next to us at the campsite was a couple with their grandchildren. So when their mum came to collect them I asked her permission and gave the bouncy ball to the grandchildren.
The next day we were sat on the beach and a woman with a young Labrador dog stopped near us to give it a drink. I walked over and asked if her dog played with tennis balls. She said it did and I gave her the ball for the dog.
Now that left the playmobile figure, who we named Bridget. After all those years in the sea she had lost her hair so we provided a new wig and now Bridget from Bridlington has a permanent place in Iona.
