The second part of our 2023 resume takes us from Yorkshire to Norfolk to places we had not visited before.
Trip 10: Pateley Bridge Showground. We camped on the showground, an easy walk into Pateley Bridge and opposite the park. You can follow the river Nidd along the path of the old railway. The oldest Sweet shop in the country is worth a visit. There is Yorke’s Folly above the town to visit.

Trip 11: Craken House Farm,Leyburn. The Wensleydale Heritage line runs from Leyburn to Leeming. There are some great walks along the Shawl over looking the Ure valley.

Trip 12: Rutland Water for a couple of days with our grandsons. Basic site but cycle paths all around Rutland Water.

Trip 13: Stow on the Wold, RFC. There is not a great variety of walks but Stow is a picturesque and historic town. Just outside of Stow there is the IX century Church of St Nicolas. It has no electric or water but an amazing mural

Trip 14: Bridlington, Royal Yacht Club. The site is 200m from the beach. Miles of beach to walk or just walk into Bridlington. A favourite site for us.

Trip 15: Oliver’s Mount,Scarborough. The site is above Scarborough within the Oliver’s Mount race track. Walk into Scarborough with plenty to see, the castle is worth a visit, the Japanese garden if you fancy a dragon boat on the lake.

Trip 16: Pershore, Avon bank Meadow, riverside walk into Pershore, the Abbey is worth a visit, Wyre Piddle village has a riverside pub.

Trip 17: Bilton Park, Harrogate. You can walk into Harrogate or into Ripley along the old railway track. There is the main park which is huge, lots of historic buildings. The opposite direction takes you to Knaresborough along a cycle path, there is the river and a castle to see. A pub, The Gardeners Arms, is just down from the campsite. Great beer garden, cheap beer. The only problem is you have to walk past it most days.

Trip 18: Sandringham Norfolk. The Sandringham estate has plenty of footpaths, a visitor centre and the house and church are open in the summer season.

Trip 19: Woodhill Park, East Runton. Halfway between Sheringham & Cromer on the Nth Norfolk coast. There is a bus service to either town or walk along the beach.

A great year in the motorhome, now the long wait until our next adventure in 2024.
