In April the airbag warning light came on and it would not go off so the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) was sent off to be reset at a firm in Liverpool, Crash Data.co.uk. It came back in 3 days and I refitted it and everything has been working.
However on our last trip we were at Bridlington for 4 nights and on the day we left I started the engine and the passenger airbag light came on which meant the airbag was switched off.
Eventually we left the campsite with all the airbag lights on but after a few minutes everything settled down and just the main airbag warning light stayed on.
Once we got home and unpacked I checked all the wires to the seat sensors and the seat belt tensioners but everything seemed OK. I took the ECU out and got it ready to send off on the Monday morning. I was hoping that it was able to be fixed, but I was worried that it only lasted 5 months since the last repair.
The ecu came back from Crash Data after being reset. The problem was again caused by an internal error , so at least the seat belt tensioners were ok.
We are going away again soon so hopefully now it is all back together we will be OK. However if it crashes again I think I will have bite the bullet and order a new unit @ £200.
